A Year of “Firsts”

I look back at these pictures and think about “the good ol’ days.”  (I was experiencing a new kind of love for the very first time.)

I remember the thrill of bringing home my sweet angel like it was yesterday.  The overwhelming gratitude, the unbelievable infatuation…It was a new kind of love.  One you don’t really know exists until you experience it.  The kind that keeps you up all night too excited to fall asleep, staring at that sweet face in total awe.

It was my first time feeling so needed. The way she cheerfully clenched onto me was everything.  So consumed in my love, I didn’t get around to taking her new born photos until she was 6 weeks old!

The angelic scenery and floral elements captured everything I was feeling.  Beach waves and matching floral head pieces accented with soft pink hues screamed “baby girl!”  The giant bear…not so much.

But Dad couldn’t leave “Tedward” out of the family photos.  Ken came home with him when I was about 6 months pregnant.  He specifically told me I had to share it with the baby.  I’m glad I did!  Lil’s and Ted hit it off since day one.  I’ve caught her talking to him several times.

I took inspiration from these photos for her first birthday party this past weekend.  I will be posting the photos for it in my next post!

As all the festivities for her first birthday come to an end, I am majorly bummed at how quickly my angel is growing. I find myself trying to soak in every moment, as we celebrate each little milestone.

A year full of firsts has come and gone and I can’t help but think, that one day I will be looking back at this time as the “good ol’ days!”
